The local Elections BC office, which has set up shop in the old Farwest Sports building on First Avenue West in Prince Rupert, is ready for what could be a very busy couple of weeks in the run up to the October 24 election.
Advance voting will get underway next week with the Advance vote period set for Thursday, October 15 to Wednesday, October 21 at the local returning office.
For those planning to take advantage of the early voting dates, Elections BC does have a few COVID times rule in place before you drop in to vote.

Many British Columbians are opting to use a mail-in-ballot for this election. Elections BC notes that completed vote-by-mail packages must be received before 8PM on October 24.
It recommends either mailing yours in before October 17th, or delivering it by hand to your local returning office.
As of today, Elections BC has received 567,000 requests for Vote-by-mail ballots.

On election day, October 24, the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre in Prince Rupert will be hosting the balloting, with the voting booths open from 8am to 8pm that day.
