The newest mural in Terrace is about a heavy subject.
But the artist collective behind a stunning new piece of public art about missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls says getting people to have difficult conversations is important and cathartic.
“It’s nice to share and show that through the artwork,” Amanda Hugon recently told APTN News.
Hugon is from the Sto:lo Nation and an artist with the local arts collective Raven-Tacuara.
She wants the mural, which was done as part of the Skeena Salmon Art Fest, “to bring the awareness to make sure we’re all watching out for each other.”
