Premier John Horgan has received guidance from his doctor that will see him face surgery on Friday. The premier named Mike Farnworth as Deputy Premier and tasked him with overseeing the government agenda during the period of surgery and recovery.
In his health advisory, Horgan recounts how he had noticed a lump in his neck and went to see his doctor for a range of tests and to discuss his concerns.
His notes were relayed through his Social Media accounts and end with a reminder for British Columbians to to see their physician or urgent care facility should they feel something isn’t quite right in their own health.
Thank you very much to everyone who has sent their well wishes. 🙏

The incredible efforts of our health workers have me feeling confident and grateful. We need to ensure that our public health care system is there for anyone who needs it.
Another update no doubt will come following Friday’s surgery as to what form of a timeline for recovery Horgan will be facing.
Following the news, Interim Opposition Leader Shirley Bond issued a statement wishing the Premier her best as he faces his medical challenge. Green Party leader Sonia Furstenau shared her best wishes through Twitter.
